Community (Jesus Chist)

I have been going to this church for a while now. I have grew both phyically and spritally. I now have a deeper sense of who christ is and why he died for me. I am a strong believer in his word and teachings. Back in the day I was a rebellious child. I cut school alot, came home too late without calling, and was always on punishment. That ment I could not go outside, watch tv, listen to music, and talk on the phone. If i was really mad I would still rebell. But sense going to church (learning to be more like christ) I have really change my was. I am not perfect, but i take gods word serious. One thing he says is "Honor your Father and your Mother". I always had a respect for my mom but now I take if more serious. As for my Father it was hard to do. He was not around that much during my childhood. But everytime I did see him we had alot of fun. Christ has really changed my life for the better. If I didnt know christ and I was still on my old was, I dont know where I would be at now. So I give a big thanks to the man upstairs.

Community (Fellowship)

I have made alot of friends in my church. Their names are Greg, JB, Marcus, Janice, Melissa, Monique, Nickiesha, Tia, Yanira, Namarie, Carlos and Stephanie just to name a few. Every weekend we hang out. We do alot. We go bowling, out to a restaurant, roller skating, play basketball, but we mostly go to the movies. Every time we are out we have a good time. We have deep conversations about life and stuff we are going through now. Some of my friends who I grew up with are apart of this group. Their names are Chris, Matt, David, Derrick. All of these people who i've named are my brothers and sisters. We are closer then friend, we are a family.

Community (Youth Service)

My youth service is for junior high and high school students. Our main focus is to teach as many people as we can about the word of God and leaving them with the choice to accept him or not. We always pray that they do. I have been in the youth for about two years. after June I will not be able to go to youth service because i will be out of high school. I will be going to other groups within the church. But youth service is always fun. Its fun, friendly and you will learn alot. If you are within the age range 12-18 and you are curious about going, talk to me and I will give you the info you need.

More About My Community

Glad Tidings Tabernacle is home to many groups. Monday and Tuesday They have cell groups for adults. On Monday the men have there group. They sit down and talk about Christ purpose for a man. The women have meetings on Tuesdays. Just like the men, they sit down and talk about Chrsit purpose for a women. On Wednsday we have a group for young adults. 18 and over and graduated from high school. They sit and disscuse many things about the world today and how it's to be a christian in today's society. Some real deep stuff. Fridays are my favorite night. Its the youth night. My youth group is called "The Source". Here we always have somthing new. From worship to performances, danceing to games. Friday nights are always fun. I even perform every now and then. On Saturday we have drama practice. Here we create skits, songs, dances and poems. Also sometime on Saturday night we have an event called "The Underground". This is just a performance type thing. We find people who would like to come through to minister and perform for us. These are the many groups of Glad Tidings. At this church you could never get bored.

My Community

My communtiy is my church. I am a christian. i attend Glad Tidings tabernacle. It is located on 33rd street and 8th ave. I strated going in march of 2005. That was around the time I got saved. Now I attend my church 3 times a week. Fridays is our youth night. Thats where the youth of the church comes together and worship. We always have like an hour of worship music. Then after we always have a new topic or a new game to play. Sometimes we even have concerts where we have christian rappers and singers come through to perform and minister to us that night. We also sometimes have open mic night. Thats where any of the youth can perform a song dance or anything thats used to prasie god. I always perform for this night.. I am a christian rapper myself. Each open mic i perform a song or two. On Saturdays we have drama practice. Thats where some of the youth practice skits, songs and dances so when we go to minister to different places we always have something new to show. On Sunday we have sunday service. Thats where the pastor of the church minisers to everyone for about an hour after an hour of worship music. my pastors name is Carl Keys. This is a community I'm glad to be apart of.
